Abu Dhabi

Over the past couple of years TESS have become regular visitors to Abu Dhabi to lend a hand in the rapid development of large scale events in the United Arab Emirates.  Not only is the UAE hosting international sporting events such as Formula One, Rugby Sevens and the FIFA Club World Cup, but they are developing a strong portfolio of concerts and other mass events.

We are luckly to work regularly with Flash Entertainment who are bringing a host of international stars to the Emirate.  In November we helped bring Beyonce, Kings of Leon, Jamiroquai, The Wailers and Aerosmith to a series of gigs coninciding with the Formula One Grand Prix [the picture shows the where the stage will be constructed at the massive Ferrari World site].

TESS worked closely with Flash Production Director, Lee Charteris to help navigate the challenges of producing free shows at the Yas Marina Circuit and down on the Abu Dhabi Corniche beach.

With any luck we will be back on the beach and at the historic fort at Al Ain in early 2010 with WOMAD, who should be bringing their own unique brand of world culture to the people of the UAE.

Abu Dhabi presents opportunities and challenges in equal measure; whilst there is little in the way of established safety culture - there is massive enthusiasm and a desire to learn.  If people like Lee and WOMAD can show the way, there is nothing to stop Abu Dhabi becoming a global centre for all things cultural.
