Glastonbury Festival
We provide Glastonbury Festival with a year-round service that includes
assistance with licence applications, advising the Operational Director
In
the run-up to the Festival a huge amount of time is spent checking
the competence of contractors, reviewing their paperwork and verifying
appropriate insurance is in place. We provide staff on site to
oversee construction and ensure structures and other installations
are properly completed.
During the
week of the actual Festival we provide a 24-hour monitoring and
advisory service to the Organisers and report directly to the
Festival Silver Command on a regular basis. We oversee the operation
of some 70 safety stewards and a team of qualified inspectors,
and liaise closely with production crews, site management and
crowd safety teams.
Daily meetings
are held with health and safety representatives from the local
authority, and a common approach to risk management.
The Event
Safety Shop Ltd bring a mix of broad event experience and detailed
knowledge of the Glastonbury site and its operation. Through mud,
storm and heatwave we have been on hand to assist and advise the
greatest show on earth; according to the enforcing authority we
have consistently set “benchmark standards” for large-scale
festival safety management.
Jersey Music Live
The JML festival was in its third year when we became involved in
formalising a thorough health and safety management system in line
with the Organisers’ desire to expand and develop the event.
This involved attending Jersey’s Bailiff Panel to assist in
the application process and the drafting of a comprehensive 150
page Event Safety Management Plan. Event Safety Shop staff were
on site to manage the build and break phases of the show and to
oversee crowd safety and security issues during the show.
The Organisers
were advised on a range of issues from communication strategy
through to fence layout and police liaison. The festival was a
massive success and goes from strength to strength.
