The Event Safety Shop were honoured at the UK 2011 Festival Awards ceremony on 15th November at the Roundhouse in London. The Award for Outstanding Contribution to Festival Production was given in recognition of a decade of development in festival safety management.
"The award is decided by a panel of industry judges assembled by TPI magazine, who consider the individual or company which has shown innovation or made a huge difference to production at festivals" explains Festival Awards' managing director James Drury.
"It's great to see TESS's work getting the recognition it deserves, not just in enabling the safe delivery of spectacular shows but the additional work that the team do for the benefit of the whole industry. TPI salutes you!" adds Andy Lenthall.
"The award is the highest praise, coming as it does from our colleagues in the UK festival and event production industry." says director Tim Roberts, "At TESS we strive to make exciting things happen and counter the image of the health and safety man as another obstacle for the event organiser to overcome. It is good to see this approach recognised by our colleagues at the very heart of the industry."
