The Liverpool Dreams Giants Spectacular saw over 1.3 million people attend October 4-7, 2018, with generating over £60 million for the local economy.

The award was presented by Chief Constable of Merseyside police Andy Cooke, who explained:

“The certificate rewards efforts in leadership, problem solving, project management and coordination of comprehensive partnership work. The team spent twelve months meticulously planning the huge operation working closely with Superintendent Mark Morgan and anti-terrorism units to make sure it went off without a hitch.”

Simon James commented:

“I’ve worked on a lot of events in Liverpool since 2008 and this one was particularly special because it meant so much to the city. The Merseyside Police, Culture Liverpool and ourselves integrated seamlessly to act as a single team, which worked incredibly well on this logistically challenging event.

“We managed the whole event together from the police command control centre. This meant there was no them and us, we were ultimately responsible for the audience safety, with huge police support. This award was unexpected, it was great day to share with our clients’ and I am very proud to receive an award of this nature.”
